Edith (Nowicki) Stump Pattengale

Edith (Nowicki) Stump Pattengale, age 92 of Attica, IN died at 2:20 a.m. on Tuesday, February 19, 2013 at the Williamsport Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Edith was born on April 21, 1920 in Benton County, IN. She was the daughter of Frank and Mamie (Stevens) Nowicki. She graduated from Boswell High School in 1938. She lived in Williamsport and Otterbein most of her life before moving to Attica. On September 6, 1938 she married Kenneth Stump. He preceded her in death in July 1995. She then married William Pattengale in 1997. He preceded her in death. Edith was a dorm mother at Purdue University. She was a member of the Pine Village Christian Church and had previously attended Hickman Heights Christian Church. Surviving are, 2 children, Claude F. “Frank” Stump (wife: Beverly) of Ophir, Oregon and Roberta Crone (husband: Ronald) of Williamsport, IN; 1 brother, Delmar Nowicki (wife: Marge) of Dyer, IN; 5 grandchildren, Mark Crone (wife: Amy), Ryan Crone (wife: Roxanne), Sherri Alonso (husband: Mike), Tammy R. Stump, and Lori Carnell (husband: Ernie); and 9 great-grandchildren. Edith was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Nancy Ellen Stump, sister, Rosemary Ragnow, and brother, Floyd Nowicki. Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Thursday, February 21, 2013 with visitation from 1:00 pm until service time at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Bryan Morgan officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Cemetery in Danville, IL. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions be made to the Histiocytosis Association, 322 N. Broadway, Pitman, NJ 08071.
