Ann (Whistler) McIntosh

Evelyn Ann (Whistler) McIntosh of rural Williamsport died at 2:55 p.m. on Tuesday, January 1, 2013 at Morristown Manor, Morristown, IN following a brief illness. She was born October 19, 1936 near Tab in Warren County to Wilmer Lloyd and Evylin Marie (Pugh) Whistler. She attended school in Tab and graduated from Ambia High School in 1954. On November 19, 1956 in Ambia she married James M. McIntosh who survives. They lived and farmed in Liberty Township in Warren County for 56 years. Ann worked as a bookkeeper at Eagle Lumber Company in Lafayette until devoting her life to raising her three children. She later worked as a teacher’s aide at Warren Central Elementary School for 13 years until devoting her time to caring for her grandchildren. Most recently she worked in the Warren County Clerk’s Office for 12 years retiring in 2007. She was a member of the Judyville United Methodist Church where she served as pianist and Music director for 50 years. She was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post #3318 in Attica. She enjoyed working ceramics and made many Christmas figurines over the years, including five complete nativity sets. Ann was an excellent cook and enjoyed cooking for her family. She is survived by her mother, husband and 3 children, Steve (Brenda) McIntosh of Williamsport, Sandy (Mark) Pickering of Knightstown, IN and Marjorie “Mert” McIntosh of Princeton, IL; 2 brothers, Larry Whistler of Plattsmoth, NE and Lewis Whistler of Pine Village, IN; 6 grandchildren, Clay McIntosh, Kate (Seth) Hardin, Rachel (Greg) Amos, Ross Pickering, Max Boes, and Emily Boes; and 1 step-great-grandson, Keiten Hardin. She was preceded in death by her father, granddaughter, Valerie McIntosh, and son-in-law, Brad Boes. Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Sunday, January 6, 2013 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Services will be there in the chapel on Monday, January 7, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev.’s Charles B. Anderson, and Hugh and Erma Rohrer officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Judyville United Methodist Church Christmas Toy Fund or the Warren County Community Foundation to be passed thru to the Helping Hands Fund.
