Jerry C. Houchens

Jerry C. Houchens, age 71 of West Lebanon, IN died at 1:20 p.m. on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at his residence. Jerry was born in Glasgow, KY on September 3, 1941. He was the son of Willie C. and Willa N. (Woodcock) Houchens. He attended Wolcott High School and was a resident of Warren County, IN most of his life. He married Tina Hensley on May 20, 1983 in West Lebanon. Jerry worked as a machinist Hyster Co. for 14 years then FMC Corp in Hoopeston, IL for 13 years. He worked for the Warren County Highway Dept. for 10 years before retiring in 2008. He coached West Lebanon Little League for 11 ½ years and was union steward for FMC Corp. He liked collecting scaled model tractors, working in his yard and watching birds. He loved to go cruising in his jeep and his kids, daughter-in-laws, and grandchildren meant the world to him. Surviving with his wife, Tina, are, 2 sons, Jeff Houchens (wife: Raymie) of Williamsport and Jon Houchens (wife: Lisa) of Ocala, FL; 2 sisters, Barbara Staples (husband: Follis) of Glasgow, KY and Margaret Stotler (husband: Joe) of Lawrenceburg, IN; and 2 granddaughters, Brittany Ranae Houchens and Tylee Marie Houchens. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Services will be there in the chapel on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Randy Cary and James Moore officiating. Interment will be at West Lebanon Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the West Lebanon Little League.
