Leona Louise Watson

Leona “Lee” Louise (Sipes) Watson, age 76 of West Lafayette, died at 5:25 P.M. on Tuesday, October 23, 2007 at her residence in West Lafayette, IN. Lee was born June 12, 1931 in Attica, IN. She was the daughter of Cletus and Ruby (Shore) Sipes. She graduated from Williamsport High School in 1949. On July 7, 1985 she married Curtis Watson at the Attica Christian Church. He survives. Lee was the High School Principal’s secretary for the West Lafayette Community School Corporation. After her retirement, she created web pages with her husband for West Lafayette schools. She had formerly been a self-employed beautician. She wrote a book and enjoyed painting and writing poetry. Surviving with her husband, are, 1 daughter, Theresa Rhode (husband: Randy) of Lafayette, IN; 1 son, Terry Tribby (wife: Karen) of Kokomo, IN; 4 sisters, Kay Clark (husband: Doyle) of Hoseshoe Bend, Brookston, IN; Norma Odore (husband: Paul) of Attica, IN; Renee Biesecker (husband: Glenn) of Eufala, OK; and Carol Ann Pemberton (wife of the late: James Pemberton) of San Antonio, TX; brother-in-law, Leo Johnson of Crawfordsville, IN; 5 grandchildren and 3 step-grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and 2 brothers, Normand and Larry Sipes, and 1 sister, Donna Johnson. Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Thursday, October 25, 2007 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. EDT. Services will be held there in the chapel on Friday, October 26, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. EDT with Rev. Don Williams officiating. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery in Williamsport. The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
