Ruth M. (Pearson) Doland

OBITUARY (For Immediate Release) Dateline: West Lebanon, IN Ruth M. (Pearson) Doland, age 88 of West Lebanon, died at 10:10 a.m. on Monday, May 21, 2012 at St. Vincent Williamsport Hospital. She had been in failing health the past 2 years. Ruth was born near Attica, IN on March 20, 1924. She was the daughter of Ross and Leora (Zick) Pearson. She graduated from Williamsport High School in 1942. On May 24, 1946 she married Emerson “Em” B. Doland in Lafayette, IN. He preceded her in death on July 9, 2001. She and her husband had owned and operated Doland’s Mobile Service Station in West Lebanon where they were longtime residents. Ruth was a homemaker. She was a former member of the OES Chapter #162 West Lebanon where she was active for several years. Surviving are, 2 sons, Gregory B. Doland of West Lebanon and Jeffrey D. Doland (wife: Edie) of Lafayette; 1 sister, Nancy Muinzer (husband: Andy) of Lafayette; and 2 brothers, Larry Pearson of West Point and Dallas Pearson (wife: Doris) of Lafayette. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents and 1 sister, Nadine Smith. Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport from 4:00 p.m. until the memorial service time at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 24, 2012. Rev. Don Williams will be officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Almost Home Humane Society, Seeger High School Library or the charity of donor’s choice.
