E. Katheryn (Lucas) Hetrick Bannon

Edith Katheryn (Lucas) Hetrick Bannon, age 92 of Williamsport, died at 6:37 p.m. on Monday, April 30, 2012 at St. Elizabeth East in Lafayette, IN. Katheryn was born on March 9, 1920 near Williamsport, IN. She was the daughter of Daniel J. and Katie (Gates) Lucas. Katheryn lived in Alvin, IL for 1928-1932 then moved to Warren County, IN. She resided in Williamsport since 1974. She was a 1938 graduate of Williamsport High School then went on to Beauty’s South Land Beauty College. She started her own salon at the age of 19 where she worked until 1947. She later owned and operated Katheryn’s Beauty Salon from 1974 until 1983. On September 5, 1947 she married Andrew Jackson “Jack” Hetrick in Williamsport. He preceded her in death on May 17, 1971. On November 19, 1983 she married Joseph S. Bannon in Williamsport. He preceded her in death on September 1, 1996. Katheryn was a former member of the Pence Christian Church. She was an associate member of Pantana Christian Church in Tucson, AZ and a current member of the Williamsport Christian Church. Katheryn was a former member of the Business and Professional Women Club of Warren County and a current member of the Warren County Farm Bureau and OES Chapter #162 West Lebanon. Surviving are, 1 daughter, Julia M. Ottenweller (husband: Carl) of Morgantown, IN; 3 sons, Maurice David Hetrick of Williamsport, Thomas A. Hetrick (wife: Pam) of West Lebanon, and Chester D. Hetrick (wife: Karen) of Phoenix, AZ; 2 stepsons, Joe L. Bannon and Thomas L. Bannon (wife: Juanita) both of West Lebanon; 1 stepdaughter, Janet Wolf (husband: Gene) of Williamsport; 1 brother, Paul Lucas (wife: Kay) of Greenwood, IN; 7 grandchildren and 4 step-grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and 5 step-great-grandchildren. Katheryn was preceded in death by 1 brother, Manuel Lucas and 1 sister, Jean Greenwood of Attica. Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Saturday, May 5, 2012 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Services will be at the Williamsport Christian Church on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. with Pastors Don Williams and Jesse Stoner officiating. Interment will be at Rainsville Cemetery. Flowers are welcome but memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice if they prefer.
