Della "Lorene" (Ray) Shatell

Della “Lorene” (Ray) Shatell, age 88 of West Lebanon, IN died at 7:06 a.m. on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at Terre Haute Regional Hospital. Lorene was born in Riverside, IN on January 17, 1924. She was the daughter of Walter and Dora (Pearson) Ray. She was a 1942 graduate of Attica High School. She had resided in Riverside, Williamsport, Attica, Marshfield, and most recently West Lebanon. She married Robert F. Shatell on December 20, 1947 in Covington, IN. He preceded her in death on June 18, 1987. Lorene was a homemaker. She had worked at Ray’s Diner and Our Place in Williamsport. She had attended the West Lebanon Christian Church and Bethel Community Church. She was inducted to the OES West Lebanon Chapter #162 on October 13, 1964 along with her husband, Robert, and sister-in-law, Jean Cayton. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and eating at Duck’s Diner. Lorene is survived by, 3 daughters, Patricia “Susie” Baumgart (James) of Danville, IL, Bobette Howard (Dwain) of West Lebanon, and Dorene Durrant (David) of Perrysville; 5 grandchildren, Rusty (Kelly), Jimmy (Dewi), Heather (Bob), Dana (Andy), and Jake (Sabrina); and 8 great-grandchildren, Chancellor, Braxton, Emma, Arin, Brody, Devyn, Issabella, and Peyton Lorene was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers, Robert Ray and twin Delbert Loren “Barney” Ray, and a granddaughter, Barbie Jean. Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in West Lebanon on Saturday, March 24, 2012 from noon until the OES service time at 2:00 p.m. The funeral service will immediately follow with Minister Bruce Thornsbrough officiating. Interment will be at West Lebanon Cemetery.
