Myrtle Mae (McKinney) Brashears

Myrtle Mae (McKinney) Brashears, age 94 of Rainsville, IN died on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at St. Mary’s Healthcare in Lafayette where she had been a resident the past 3 years. Myrtle was born on May 15, 1917 in Linden, IN. She was the daughter of Finis and Eula (Garman) McKinney. Myrtle attended Linden school. She resided in Crawfordsville and Lafayette before moving to Rainsville where she resided since 1973. Myrtle worked in the binding department at R.R. Donnelley Co in Crawfordsville for 25 years. She previously worked at Purdue University for 8 years as a custodian. She had been a member of the Linden Christian Church. She was a member of the Attica Williamsport Senior Citizens and the Moose Lodge of Attica Chapter #23. Surviving are, 1 brother, Bobby McKinney of Lafayette, IN and 2 sisters, Betty Edwards of Crawfordsville and Eleanor Hooper of Lafayette. Myrtle was preceded in death by 1 brother, Paul McKinney, and 3 sisters, Mildred Welch, Ruth Alice McKinney and Margaret Barker. Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Friday, March 16, 2012 from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Bonnie Shoaf officiating. Interment will be at Linden Cemetery in Linden, IN.
