Robert J. Hislope, age 86 of Williamsport, IN, died at 3:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at Williamsport Nursing and Rehab where he had been a resident. Robert was born on October 26, 1925 in Delmer, KY. He was the son of Robert and Ola (Barker) Hislope, Sr. He had been a Warren County resident most of his life. On December 24, 1946 he married Elveree Flynn in Kentucky. She preceded him in death on October 22, 1987. He later married Theresa “Jean” Dickson and she preceded him on March 19, 2001. Robert served in the US Navy during WW II. He was a member of the VFW Post #1154 Lafayette. Robert worked as an operator for Alcoa retiring after 35 years of service. He was an outdoorsman that enjoyed dogs, horses, and hunting. Surviving are, 6 children, Dormas Hislope (wife: Lola) of West Lebanon, Noel Hislope (wife: Joyce) of Elkhart, IN, Jim Hislope (wife: Wanda) of West Lebanon, IN, Patty Beckett (husband: Sam) of Santa Rosa Beach, FL, Pam Bostwick (husband: Mike) of Lebanon, OH and Robin Taylor (husband: Bobby) of Champaign, IL; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren. Robert was preceded in death by his parents and 3 sisters, Olive Tarter, Irene Munsey, and Aileen Molen. Visitation will be on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. until service time at 1:00 p.m. at Grady Funeral Home in West Lebanon with Pastor Dave Wickens officiating. Interment will be at Tippecanoe Memory of Gardens in West Lafayette, IN with full military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association.
