Homer M. Mullins, age 80 of Danville, IL, died at 9:01 p.m. CDT on Friday, October 21, 2011 at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, IL. Homer was born in Danville, IL on February 25, 1931. He was the son of Grover C. and Jessie Mae (Pollitt) Mullins. He was a Danville resident all of his life and graduated from Oakwood High School in 1950. He married Muriel Jordan in Danville, IL on December 11, 1955. She survives. Homer served in the service during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Flexel in Covington after working there for 36 years. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. He enjoyed mushroom hunting and going to the beach at St. Petersburg, FL. He loved animals and his family and was very family oriented. Surviving are, Wife, Muriel Mullins Children, Lynne Ellis (husband: Dwight) and Lisa Cline (husband: Jay) both of Danville, IL and Mark Mullins (wife: Karen) of Chrisman, IL Brothers, Gordon A. Mullins of Danville, IL and Darrell Mullins (wife: Virginia) of Gladtsone, MI 2 grandchildren, Kyle Ellis and Keely Ellis both of Danville, IL 2 great-grandchildren, Matthew and Kaelyn Miller His cat, Jimmy Fuzzy Homer was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Armada LeClaire and Jessie “Irene” Mullins and brothers, Caleb, Grover, Lawrence, and Otis Mullins Visitation will be at First Presbyterian Church, 100 N. Franklin St., Danville, IL on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. CDT until service time at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Dr. Jimmy Hopper officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Cemetery in Danville, IL. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church.
