Louzella (Claunch) Gastineau

Louzella (Claunch) Gastineau, age 88 of Williamsport, died at 6:15 a.m. on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at Williamsport Nursing & Rehab. Louzella was born on February 5, 1923 near Somerset, KY. She was the daughter of Eugene and Flonnie Mae (Woodall) Claunch. She attended school in Kentucky. On June 1, 1943 she married James M. Gastineau in Somerset, KY. He preceded her in death on December 1, 2004. They lived in Rensselaer, Warren County, and Benton, IN, and settled in Williamsport since 1973. Louzella was a homemaker. She worked as a cashier and hostess at local restaurants for several years. She was a member of Wabash Valley Bible Baptist Church. Surviving are, 1 daughter, Sharyn Elaine Engelbrecht (husband: Ted) of Westfield, IN; 2 sons, James Wayne Gastineau (wife: Marion) of West Lafayette, IN and Barry J. Gastineau of Williamsport; 3 grandchildren, Bryan Engelbrecht (wife: Shannon), Amie Trahin (husband: Josh) and Tami Gastineau; 3 great-grandchildren; and 3 step-great-grandchildren. Louzella was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Lorene Poynter and Ann Barnett, and 2 brothers, Earl and infant Clarence. Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Saturday, October 15, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Services will be there in the chapel on Sunday, October 16, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior and with Pastor John T. Adams officiating. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery in Williamsport. Memorial contributions may be made to Wabash Valley Bible Baptist Church.
