Cynthia E. (Gee) Simonton, age 90 of West Lebanon, died at 9:15 a.m. on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at her home.
Cynthia was born near Marshfield, IN on August 26, 1920. She was the daughter of Bruce and Ida (Murphy) Gee. She was a lifelong resident of Warren County. She attended Marshfield schools. On January 6, 1948 she married Robert Dean Simonton, Sr. in Tampa, FL. He preceded her in death on November 6, 1983.
Cynthia worked at the Sewing Factory in Danville, IL. She was a member of the Church of the Living Water. She enjoyed crocheting, doing crossword puzzles, playing solitaire and especially playing UNO with her sisters.
Surviving are, 3 children, Sandra Lawson (husband: Skip) of Covington, IN, Kathy Brown of West Lebanon, and Steve B. Simonton of West Lebanon; 6 brothers and sisters, Eva Lape of New Ross, IN, Bruce Gee (wife: Patsy) of Covington, Howard Gee (wife: Mary) of Williamsport, Frank Gee (wife: Mary) of rural Williamsport, Ann Wesley (husband: Millard) of Attica, and Dick Gee (wife: Tiny) of Marshfield; 9 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. Cynthia was preceded in death by her parents, 1 son, Robert “Bo” Simonton, 2 brothers, David and Gordon Gee, and 3 sisters, Luella, Doris and Rosie.
Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in West Lebanon on Thursday July 21, 2011 from 5:00 p.m.-8 p.m. Services will be there in the chapel on Friday July 22, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor David Wickens officiating. Interment will be at West Lebanon Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Church of the Living Water.
