Frances Lorraine (Smith) Coleman, age 73 of Williamsport, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Thursday, March 24, 2011. Frances was born on May 9, 1937 near Attica, IN. She was the daughter of James Everette and Marilla (Green) Smith. She was a 1955 graduate of Attica High School where she resided as prom queen. She was raised in Attica and had been a resident of Warren County since 1956. On March 10, 1956 she married Louis Malcom Coleman in Williamsport. He preceded her in death on February 25, 2007. Frances worked for RMC in Attica, as an aid for Head Start in Kramer, and for Purdue University in the Union Building and Grad House, retiring in 1994. Frances attended the Williamsport Christian Church. She liked birds, refurnishing antique furniture, and was an avid reader. She was a country music fan, especially enjoying Don Williams, George Jones, and Eddie Raven. Surviving are, children, Dave Coleman (wife: Laura) of Naples, FL, Danny Coleman of Snoqualmie, WA, Steve Coleman of Crossville, TN, Rhonda Bowlus (husband: the late Chip) of Williamsport, and Mark Coleman (wife: Rachael) of Wingate, IN; brothers and sisters, Betty Ratliff (husband: Jim) of West Point, IN, Chuck Smith (husband: Nancy) and Richard Smith both of Lafayette, and Vernie Smith (wife: Karen) of Pennsylvania; and 8 grandchildren, Dannielle Wright, Marilla Coleman, Bambi Loshbough Williams, Shelby Coleman, Blaine Bowlus, Cody Bowlus, Ian Coleman, and Justin Coleman. Frances was preceded in death by her husband, Louis, and sister-in-law, Joanne Smith. Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in Williamsport on Monday, March 28, 2011 from 11:00 until service time at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Don Williams officiating. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
