Ernest L. Slauter

Ernest Leroy Slauter died on April 27th. Ernie was born on June 21, 1931 in Williamsport, IN and is the son of deceased John and Margaret Slauter of Pence, IN. Ernie is preceded in death by his brother Charles Slauter and his two sisters, Alma Greenwood and Barbara Slauter. Ernie has one living brother, Don Slauter of Muncie, IN. Ernie leaves his wife, Dixie and two sons, Jay and Ann Slauter of Tucson, AZ and Jerry and Barbara Slauter of LaPorte, IN, four grandchildren – Shannon, Micah, Tylor, and Amy, and two great-grandchildren – Hannah and Hailey. Ernie actively participated in the First United Methodist Church in Williamsport, as well as the Desert Son Church in Tucson, AZ. He was also an active member of the Masons and enjoyed his work as the first director of the Warren County Foundation. Ernie received prestigious recognitions and will be long-remembered and appreciated for his devout efforts in community service. A memorial service will be held at the Williamsport United Methodist Church on Saturday, May 19, 2007 at 1:00 P.M. EDT with Pastors Kate Walker and Chuck Anderson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and following the service at a reception at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Williamsport United Methodist Church or the Warren County Community Foundation.
