Howard A. Easter

Howard A. Easter, age 77 of West Lebanon, died suddenly at his home on Friday, April 6, 2007. Howard was born in Cheneyville, IN on December 23, 1929. He was the son of Arthur Earl and Annie Marie (Bennett) Easter. He was a lifelong resident of West Lebanon. Howard was a retired truck driver. He was a member of the West Lebanon Christian Church. He enjoyed working in the yard and bird watching. Howard married Doris Sexton and they had 5 children: Michael Easter and he preceded him in death on January 10, 1970, Diane Blacketer (Husband:Gary)of West Lebanon, IN, Vicky Blankenship (Husband:Ed)of Veedersburg, IN, Tina Wilson of West Lebanon,IN, and Terry Easter (Wife:Stacy) of Covington, IN. He later married Kathleen D. (Pitcock) Sewell on August 9, 1974. She preceded him in death on December 11, 1988. Her three children are, Vicki Chavis (Husband:Dempsey)of Lake Mary, FL, Glen Sewell Wife:Gloria) of Kissimmee, FL, and Gary Sewell (Wife:Angela) of Gotha, FL. He then married Mary Lou (Pitcock) Shamp on January 1, 1990 and she survives. Her four children are Jeff Shamp (Wife:Laura) of Wooster, OH, Sam Shamp (Wife:Cindy) of Dover, TN, Leigh Ann Smyth (Husband: Michael) of Pasadena, CA, and Travis Shamp (Wife: Jennie) of Frankfort, IN. He is also survived by 26 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Howard was preceded in death by his parents, and 3 brothers, Robert, Charles, and Arthur Easter. Visitation will be on Sunday, April 8, 2007 from 5:00 to 9:00 P.M. EDT at Grady Funeral Home in West Lebanon. Services will be on Monday, April 9, 2007 at 11:00 A.M. EDT at the West Lebanon Christian Church with Minister Bruce Thornsbrough officiating. Interment will be at West Lebanon Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the West Lebanon Christian Church Building Fund.
