Fauniel E. (Smart) Ward

Fauniel E. (Smart) Ward, age 95 of North Fork, CA died at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, January 10, 2011 at Wish-I-AH Skilled Nursing Facility in Auberry, CA where she had been a resident the past 2 years. Fauniel was born on May 26, 1915 in Danville, IL. She was the daughter of Harvey and Mary Elizabeth (Huffman) Smart. She married Thomas A. Ward in Covington, IN on September 26, 1937. He preceded her in death on July 11, 1997. Fauniel lived in the West Lebanon community most of her life. She moved to Norco, CA to live with her son and then in February 2007 they moved to North Fork, CA. Fauniel was a homemaker and helped her husband on their farm. She was a member of the West Lebanon Christian Church and was active in the Democratic Party in Warren County for many years. Surviving are, 1 son, Thomas E. Ward (wife: Julie) of North Fork, CA; 1 daughter, Betty Yancy (husband: Don) of LaPorte, TX; 4 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be at Grady Funeral Home in West Lebanon on Friday, January 14, 2011 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Services will be there in the chapel on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. with Minister Bruce Thornsbrough officiating. Interment will be at Huffman Cemetery in Bismarck, IL. Memorial contributions may be made to the West Lebanon Christian Church.
